Posted on 18 March 2010 by gfriese

The EMSEduCast welcomes back Kelly Grayson – paramedic, blogger, educator, and conference presenter to discuss becoming and making the most of opportunities to become an EMS conference speaker. After the EMS Today 2010 conference Kelly wrote about the staleness of conference agendas at his blog (EMS Today After Action Report). In this episode we discuss Kelly’s post, how to become a conference presenter, how to engage with the audience, the presence and potential distraction of back channel communication during the presentation, the best scheduling and length for conference sessions, knowing your audience, big conferences and small conferences and more.

Kelly discussed his conference education program – the Airway Management Continuum – on episode 33 of the EMSEduCast. He is also the author of En Route: A Paramedic’s Stories of Life, Death, and Everything in Between (Amazon.com Link)
