Chris Cebollero, chair of the NAEMT Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC) course, is our guest on episode 55 of the EMSEduCast – the podcast by and for EMS Educators. Chris discusses the EPC content, structure, and availability of a hybrid option for EPC that combines 8 hours of didactic content with 8 hours of classroom skills training.
Chris and the hosts also responded to several questions from live listeners about the differences between EPC, PEPP, APLS, PALS, and pediatric BTLS. Bill Toon shared the recent experience and lessons learned for his organization that just completed the hybrid EPC course. Learn more about EPC and view a demo of the hybrid content.

I agree with adding this (or any similar) course to primary education for EMTs and Paramedics. I currently teach a paramedic program at Daytona State College and we include CPR, ACLS, PHTLS and PEPP within the program. In addition, in our EMT academy the students are taught CPR, PHTLS, and EVOC.

Thanks for the comment Ken. Is EPC already part of the program you teach?
