25 to drive an ambulance....really? If you join the Army you can drive a tank at 18 or be a combat medic.

Age thing? Education thing? NO listen to yourselves its a MONEY thing...and thats no way to base public policy!

These school or youth based programs are GREAT & the proof is in the results and the history of these programs.

This REALLY got my blood boiling. WHY should a competent teen NOT be allowed to be in the back of a ambulance? ALSO what does age have to do with anything? Their are people who are 60 and still irresponsible and 10 year olds who have the maintainlity of Harvard grads. Why is their such a shroud over us teens that we are incompetent and moronic? Do you expect us to arrive to a MCI and just say "whaooooooooo, that's sooooo rad dude! these peeps just got wasted!" NO! WE WOULDN'T! We would act in shock for a second maybe then hop into action like training would have thought us. ALSO I am not saying we give teens basic first aid and tossing them on a ambulance, I'm saying that if their trained they can do it. If they know the same things you guys know then WHY THE HECK NOT!?.

Also by no means am I saying that every teen is mature, but their are some who are and who want to help! I am 14 and I listen to all the EMS podcasts, study notes I have found about EMT-B training, talk to EMT-B friends and read JEMS! While I am not saying I know more then you guys, heck I don't know that much but I WANT to learn more! WHY should I have to wait 4 more years to get real training?
