Great episode! I get excited hearing guests talk about validating certification competency requirements and verifying competence through recertification. I agree with Mr (Dr?) DeMartino and other previous guests that an associate’s degree should be required for paramedics.
I also identified with Mr. DeMartino’s discussion about communication studies. I am originally from Upstate New York and obtained a BA in Com. I considered going to Syracuse for grad school and doing EMS on the side, but decided to jump all the way into EMS instead.
Kudos for honoring the service of our veterans with his unique program, and for bringing them into our profession.
