EMS Credentialing: Episode 134

Rob and Bill, co-host of the EMSEduCast, are joined by guest Jon Friesen, Major – Education Manager for the Wichita/Sedgwick County EMS System Office of the Medical Director.  Rob, Bill, and Jon speak about EMS credentialing.

Jon Friesen (jfriesen@sedgwick.gov) serves as the Major – Education Manager for the Wichita/Sedgwick County EMS System Office of the Medical Director.  In addition to his full time position with Sedgwick County, Jon is a principle in the Friesen Group where he works with organizations and individuals in organizational development, curriculum development and personal growth capacities. Prior positions were in the training division of Sedgwick County EMS, as the coordinator for emergency medical services education at Hutchinson Community College and chair of thepublic safety department, Deputy Chief of the Newton (KS) Ambulance Department and as a volunteer EMT and Paramedic with Hesston (KS) EMS.  Jon is a Kansas certified paramedic and instructor/coordinator.  A lifelong learner himself, he has been involved in EMS educational work since 1982.  In addition to his EMS certifications, Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management and a Master of Science in Organizational Development from Friends University.  On the very best of days, Jon and his wife Kathleen can be found on the back roads of Kansas and beyond taking photographs.
